Maui Prep's Christopher Salem
Maui Prep won its inaugural David S. Ishii/HHSAA boys golf championship May 10 at Maui's Royal Ka`anapali Course. Joshua Hayashida, a Hawaii Baptist Academy senior, captured medalist honors. He shot 69-72 to beat Maui Prep junior Dillon Jonke by 4 shots. Hayashida will play for the University of Hawaii in the fall. Maui Prep won the team title by 38 shots, with all five golfers in the Top 21.
